DAY 7: My Worst Habit

I am a great procrastinator. I have this bad habit of delaying tasks and then cram whenever the deadline is near. This worst habit of mine resulted to stressful days and not-so-good output. And I tried as much to get rid of this habit but sometimes, laziness gets in the way or sometimes my plate is just full. Yeah, I'm a procrastinator and I'm not proud of it!

DAY 6: A Song That Makes You Cry (or Nearly)

I easily tear up whenever I hear songs that reminds me of people and events. It brings back both happy and sad memories whenever I hear these songs. But I have what I consider as my ultimate favorite song. I like the original  version though and hate the awful versions especially that of Nina hhhmmmpp...here you go!

by Julia Fordham

Who'd have thought
This is how the pieces fit?
You and I
Shouldn't even try making sense of it
I forgot
How we ever came this far
I believe we had reasons
but I don't know what they are
So blame it on my heart, oh
Love moves in mysterious ways
It's always so surprising
When love appears over the horizon
I'll love you for the rest of my days
But still, it's a mystery
How you ever came to me
Which only proves
Love moves in mysterious ways
Heaven knows
Love is just a chance we take
We make plans
But then love demands a leap of faith
So hold me close
And never let me go
'Cause even though we think we know
which way the river flows
That's not the way love goes, no
Love moves in mysterious ways
It's always so surprising
When love appears over the horizon
I'll love you for the rest of my days
But still, it's a mystery
How you ever came to me
Which only proves
Love moves in mysterious ways
Like the ticking of the clock
two hearts beat as one
But I'll never understand
the ways it's done
Love moves in mysterious ways
It's always so surprising
When love appears over the horizon
I'll love you for the rest of my days
But still, it's a mystery
How you ever came to me
Which only proves
Love moves in mysterious ways
Love moves in mysterious ways

DAY 5: Your Dream House

We live in a shoebox of a house. It's not our dream house yet but it's something that we can call our own. When I get filthy rich, I want to invest more on real estate --- a house, a condo, a vacation house, a beach house would be in my list. That is, if I get really, really wealthy.

I am more on the minimalist side. I prefer straight lines to curves. I prefer furniture with straight lines with a few little circles perhaps. The ambiance has to be the same as staying in a 5 star hotel. Having a swimming pool or Jacuzzi would be an added bonus. Of course, I also want to have a flower garden or perhaps plant some herbs on the side.

The facade will have to look like this....

And the interiors would be like these...

Well, there's no price attached to dreaming. And who knows this dream might just come true.

DAY 4: Something You are OCD About

It's day 4 and yet I've skipped about 3 days actually. But the challenge is still on.

On this particular challenge....something that I am OC about hhhhhmmm. I think I have none in particular but what I have are mostly petpeeves. I've listed them down below:

* I don't want my things touched without my knowledge. I always have this issue with my sisters because we practically share almost everything like shoes, perfumes and yes sometimes clothes but I hate it when they use my stuff without telling me.

* Waiting way too long for people to come. My husband is guilty of this and it just irritates me when he says that he's coming and yet he's still on his way to the bathroom.

* People whispering in front of me. If you don't want me to hear what you're talking about, you can go as far as 1 kilometer but never, never whisper in front of me as if you're talking about me.

These are just a few of my petpeeves...all the rest are really manageable.

DAY 3: A Photo Taken Over 10 Years Ago of You

This was taken more than 10 years ago --- in fact it was taken more than 20 years ago. This was during my Prep School Commencement Exercise with my Auntie Inday pinning one of my ribbons. My mama used to play with my hair. In this photo, she curled my bangs in preparation for this event. Geezzz, I look like nog-nog here!

DAY 2: 20 of my Favorite Things

I am not really the type who gets attached to things. I'm more attached to people and memories. But for the sake of this challenge, allow me to enumerate a few of my favorite things (in no particular order though).

1. Pink  HP Mini - It's my most expensive gadget. I bought it out of my hard-earned money and so far it has served me well. I basically depended on this gadget for almost everything --- from work-related, online business, blogging, Odesk, PAS, facebook and games. It's a portable gadget that fits perfectly in my bag.

2.Canon PowerShot A560 Digital Camera - Another gadget that I cannot live without. I use this to capture life's special moments from my daughter's school activities, family bonding moments, office events etc. I bought this camera sometime 2007 (if I remember it right) and it still captures photos well. I also use this to take photos of products in my online shop.

3. Asics Running Shoes - It's a recent ukay purchase. My husband and I got hooked to this brand of running shoes recently and we're glad that we see a lot of these in ukay-ukay.

4. M & Co Skinny Blue Jeans - I love how it fits me perfectly and matches almost any top. It's the only skinny jeans that fits my huge body.

5. Fossil Silver Watch - I bought this watch through installment (utang). I always go for silver items when it comes to jewelry and watches. It's my everyday watch until recently when the company gave Timex watches to tenured employees. So, I gave it a rest and only wear it during special occasion.

6.  M & Co Black Leggings - If there's an item in my wardrobe that I want to wear everyday, that would be my black leggings from M & Co. I like that I could match it with almost everything from tunics, polo and long blouses.

7. Red Flats from Bazaar - I always get compliments whenever I wear this no brand flats bought in IT Park bazaar but I think it will give up on me anytime soon. Still it's my favorite pair of shoe.

8. Queen Size Bed - Obviously, it's my respite from a hard-days work. Family bonding usually happens on this bed and of course some intimate moments with the husband *wink*

9. Collection of Souvenir Ballpens from Around the World - So far I have three if you would call it a collection teehee. But to those who plans to give me souvenir items, I'm giving you this tip --- I would prefer ballpens from keychains.

10.  White Jimmy Choo Bag from my sister - It's my everyday bag. I'm a big bag kind of person and this bag just fits almost everything. I could even stuff my HP mini inside this bag.

11. Gas Stove - If I have all the time in the world, I would want to spend it in front of the stove and cook up something. I usually do this every weekend and my ultimate favorite recipe is pork sinigang and spaghetti.

12. Leona's Chocolate Surprise - It's my ultimate favorite cake of all time.

13. Pearl Earrings - It's not really authentic mother of pearl but I love how it matches almost every outfit.

14. Wet Tissues - I'm not particular with brands but as a mother, it always comes handy when I got one inside my bag especially during trips to the mall when nappy change and getting the kids' hands dirty are inevitable.

15. Mary Kay Age-Fighting Moisturizer with SPF1 - I don't go out without applying one. They say as we grow older, we need to take extra care of our skin.

15. Post-Its and Sticky Notes - These are essentials especially when I have something for the boss to sign. Whoever invented these is a genius.

16. Cellphone - I've had several cellphone models but I'm really particular to one. A cellphone is a heaven-sent to a worker, mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter like me.

17. Maybelline Red Lipstick - I wear it on those days when I'm happy.

18. Sun Broadband Wireless - It's my access to the internet world. I love how fast the connection is anywhere within Cebu (and even Bohol).

19. Gray Long Cardigan

20. Silver Bangle with Charms - bought it from a friend who sells accessories (from Carbon). It's my current favorite accessory to a boring outfit.

DAY 1: A photo that makes you happy

Day 1 of my 30-day blog challenge starts today. And today's challenge is to post a photo that makes ME happy.  Well, it seems pretty easy but the truth is, I had a hard time choosing from thousands of photos in FB and some old-school photo album. After what seemed like eternity in browsing through photos, I think I will settle for this picture of me and my sister. This was taken when I was still 4 years old and my sister Magee is yet to turn one.

It never fails to make me smile and gives me that warm feeling of how it is to be a child. It brings back fond childhood memories. I don't know why my little sister is crying in this photo but look at that smile on my face ---- as a kid, I think I loved being photographed. Oh and I can't help but smile on our toys wrapped in plastic. My mama always wraps our stuffed toys in plastic to avoid getting dirty ---so old school. And see that wedding figurine in the background? It's my parents wedding cake topper. My mama has kept it for years...such a hoarder of sentimental things just like me. So, yeah this photo tops my list!

Bon Voyage Sorella!

Tonight, my sister will get on that plane that will make her dreams come true. We already bid our goodbyes to her almost a month ago when she boarded her plane to Manila. She needs to process remaining requirements at POEA and other government agencies. And going back to Cebu would only mean additional expenses so she stayed in my uncle’s house in Manila while waiting for her Overseas Exit Certificate – the final document required for her to be able to fly out of the country. It also spares everyone the drama of seeing her finally go.

She’s off to Italy --- one of the best countries in the world. Fortunately, her working visa got approved through the efforts of an uncle who is already based there. She has to leave everything behind --- an engagement, a possible promotion, and loved ones --- for the sake of family. For years, our family has been struggling with financial difficulties and her going abroad will be an answer to our prayers and the fulfillment of our dreams. That’s the reason why OFW exists.

Dear Little Sister,
I know how tough it is to leave behind your life here in the Philippines, your comfort zone for 28 years. I know you’re scared and I’m scared for you too but this you have to do because you wanted to provide a better life for your family. I wish you could pack us all inside your luggage and join you in your journey. But then you have to go through this on your own. I will not be there anymore to hold your hand, to guide you through, to give you support but rest assured you will always be in my prayers. You will be sorely missed --- your modeling our online business, our late night chit-chat, the little fights, the fun with kiddos, and the many adventures and misadventures we’ve shared. I couldn’t even imagine not having you around.
Enjoy your new life in Italy --- take lots of pictures and keep updating your facebook. Before you even know it, you will be back home to us with a fat bank account *wink*.
Love you sis!
Ate
