An Open Letter to the Office Aircon/s

Dear A/C,

Why do you make my work such hellish?

One time, you release some foul smell and crazy sound to the disgust of our employees. On rainy days, you drip buckets of water like it’s also raining inside the office. Sometimes, you refuse to work like some lazy ass. What is wrong with you? Our life in the office depended much upon your performance and yet you don’t perform as expected. We expect you to be cool on a hot Cebu weather and yet you carry out the other way around. Are we negligent on our responsibility towards you? I don’t think so. Among other office equipment, you are one that’s pampered the most. You often get spa treatment from Alenaire on a regular basis.

I’m sick and tired of complaints filed against you. There were times when I want to squeeze the life out of you. Why don’t you just speak up and tell everyone including the bosses of what’s wrong. From now on, I refuse to fight your battles and I will no longer be at your defense.

If only we could live without you, I would have chosen a ceiling fan over you. You’re such a big disappointment to the aircon family. Now, why don’t you get your acts together before I’ll ask HR to issue your termination notice? And I think I’m going crazy ALL because of you.

Love and hate,

Your Facility Guy

The Big Sister

For the past months since Zabbie came into the picture, we haven’t really paid much attention to the big sister. Not that we love her a little less compared to her sister, it’s just that she has morph into a responsible child and can already do things on her own. She’s been a good girl too and has long outgrown her bratty ways and tantrums. And I’ve seen that she loves her sister to bits. She hugs and kisses Zabbie every chance she gets. She also wants to carry her baby sister despite her being skinny and frail.

I am also starting to teach her to learn some chores at home. She knows how to sweep the floor, buy some items at the neighborhood sari-sari store and some errands that does not require a lot of strength. At an early age, I want her to be independent in some ways. She’s fascinated with cooking shows on TV and I want her to try her hand in cooking. I am a bit hesitant though as she might blow up the entire house LOL. Maybe I’ll enroll her in one of the cooking classes in town. I haven’t seen any culinary schools for the kids though.

So much has changed since them. Sooner or later without me noticing it, she will be a full grown lady. When Zabbie came, I stopped documenting her every milestones and I feel really guilty. Like Zabbie, she still is my baby and that will remain till the end of time.
